Editorial but intimate?
For years now, I have been feeling a shift in wedding photography. Images have become more “superficial”, more trendy, less intentional, and more emotional.
I get it. Social media plays a big role in this. And the place of fashion and trends in weddings as well. But in the end, it feels like weddings are losing their soul. Couples and vendors are performing more and more, and I don’t like it.
I love the editorial aesthetic tho! Clean, polished, and stylish images. Timeless editing, elegant skin tones.
But I am not ready to give up on the emotions and the soul of my work. It has been my mission for years to blend deep emotional storytelling, a documentary approach with a clean editorial aesthetic.
To me, that’s the perfect blend.
The trick is that it’s not about getting more movement, more twisted angles, and people laughing, which is what I often see happening at weddings nowadays. It looks candid, but it is all staged or performed. You might not see it, but you feel it.
The trick is to feel, breathe, and care. Those images can happen on a very emotional and intentional wedding day.
It is not the way you stage, it is the way you look.
This is what you will get with me: truth and intention with style.
